old pond (add-on game)

old pond
spring jumps in
sound of frogs

Addition haiku referencing amphibians, bodies of water,
and/or whatever comes into your mind (though hopefully not
amphibians and small bodies of water) is encouraged.

(Thank you billy for calling attention to my omission
of the damn game instructions.)

Yes. Have corrected my omission of instructions, thanks for noticing.

Instructions:
Addition haiku referencing amphibians, bodies of water,
and/or whatever comes into your mind (though hopefully not
amphibians and small bodies of water) is encouraged.

P.S. Not necessary for Leanne, whooo whooo is lexically psychic.

Are we playing off of basho?
Basho:

"A silent pond...
A frog jumps into the pond.
Splash! Silence again."

Yes. (Though I prefer to think we're playing with him.)

P.S. Much prefer Robert Hass's translation:

The old pond —
a frog jumps in,
sound of water.

or James Kirkup's

pond
frog
plop!

or Alfred H. Marks'

There once was a curious frog
Who sat by a pond on a log
And, to see what resulted,
In the pond catapulted
With a water-noise heard round the bog.
