Chiron
Fertile Land as far as eye can see;
beyond, the Sea of No-Thing-To-Understand.
His horned bedfellows laugh, as he is
them, one of each,
beast, man: a solid
ark, but
for the golden seam.
A river crossing his heart
drowns the sickness,
opal cells: he weeps
with each recovery—each war.
What a fine bind his teachings.
Offering and burning are the same.
The storm that never comes blinded
his hatred to fortune;
mercy a field of thyme.
One apocalypse after the other,
fire to fuel to digital globin:
dined with Washington, Faust and Parsifal.—
At the Globe, he asked just enough of
a molested yet compassionate ground.
Tapestry blue and the void beyond:
fasting dampens the clouded veins.

Hey, rowens, I've been enjoying this.
A fan of digital globin.
Would you explain "sickness of opal cells"? I'm stuck there.
Thanks for posting it.

Opals have to do with tears, and they have to do with rainbows and harmony and, for me, multiculture. Cells are cells in living organisms.
So, as Chiron heals one thing, he has to harm something else. So healing and warring are the same.
The thyme has to do with Venus (Netzach on the Tree of Living) and Good Neighbors (the "Fae" don't like to be called that; they respond better if you announce them indirectly or peripherally; and since they are the same and different, with us, they don't mind the word Good: They let me speak this way, as everything I say is peripheral to what most everybody else is talking about).
Mercy Lake is connected by the Fortune Card to Netzach.
Globin and Globe bear each other. And the Globe, or world-symbolic-narrative stage is also "justified" by the lines about blinded hatred of all fortune: thus, Chiron, who was wounded by an arrow, funny for a centaur to be, after all, is all out of rage for fortune.
In my version of the Living Tree, the desert of knowledge has been flooded, destroyed are the graal of understanding and ark of zodiacal wisdom, and the land between the Sea and Mercy Lake is a Fertile Land fit for Itinerant Lore.
Nevertheless, my multispecies, multicultural Chiron, the bodymind as one, is wounded by the very pulse of living, which, socially-culturally, assures conflict, violence and suffering.
Also, the differences between True and real, between man and nature. And, if you like, sense and nonsense.

ha, I didn't trust my first instinct of opal cells as tears. Hard to know when to dive and when to float.

If she floats then she is not a witch like we thought . . . or?
Speaking of tears and thighs, me being obsessed with Emily Browning in my early 20s, and her Name and Zodiacal Sign with their poetic and mythic resonances lining up precisely the way they do on the Tree of Life and Tarot Correspondences, I was able to master the system with the undaunted zeal that most people put into stalking.

I changed to field of thyme, as the water connection to mercy can be found elsewhere.
Fields are where I often look for witches. And witches are sometimes very venusian for me.
