I'm sure you can work something out from that.

Remember that song?
You know, the one you
couldn't get outta yer head?
C'mon, it was about
some guy and girl
who were sorta in, and out
of love. The one sung
by that chick with
the demonstrative voice.
Had a strong disco-ish
backbeat and featured
in an avant-garde-ish video.
You really don't remember
that one? Really? You used to
hum it all the time...

((my entry is maybe a little tangential---i was thinking about what sort of program would say "i know that you've been feeling tired, i bring you love, etc", which led me to an entirely different song...))
Listening to this song from the aughts,
I misremembered. "Come
to me, you heavy laden, come,
and I will give you rest":
I thought it quoted Lazarus
of brazen giant fame,
but then a friend reminded me
it's Matthew's book instead,
insisting that it had some kind
of hidden goal, in cutting out
a crucial phrase, "all ye that labour",
as if the country where he lived
permitted anyone to live
if, by an ail, they could not labour.

Video Pursuit
Leave me not, my love,
I follow multicolored
butterfly, your lips.
Catch me if you dare,
persistent lover, but know
unseen black eyes witness death.

If I could
make a deal with cats,
I’d ask them to swap me places—
to sleep all day,
bask in the sun,
and get daily massages.
I wouldn’t have to work
or pay the bills,
and wouldn’t have to share
my business.
That's all I could squeeze out of myself today.

I couldn’t be arsed to hear that idio-
syncratic Ms Bush.
Not when Nikki Minaj in HD video
wiggles her fat fatty tush.
When Kmet was ruled by Kush,
before Persia had its glorious rodeo
on the steed of the great Dariyoosh
and Uruguay had no Montevideo,
and Britain hadn’t learnt to say “shush!” -
‘Twas then that they heard Kate Bush.
That’s what the whippersnappers think.
Because they’re slim, lanky, and pink
and IBS bothers them not,
they think they’re hot.
Even Nikki’s bum, like a Hottentot’s
they do not adore
the strength of her core.
O! Terpsichore!

Another day that
I sit alone
the person I am
drives everyone away
but at least I have my
Tamagotchi.
I drain what little energy
and love I have left
within my dwindling soul
into this pixelated menace,
shutting out the rest of
my pathetic life for
something I can
take care of and love
that doesn't know me
and can therefore
pretend to love me too...
(childish, I know. It's not very good but it's something for today)
