The sentence/phrase/words are the core, and in them the tone, which is where the emotion is found. (an abstraction captured within a solid core)

you´re right, most of these seem nonsense or plain.
still I quite like the quotes of Dylan Thomas, Lucille Clifton and Joseph Joubert and I think T.J. Eliot´s is truly thought-provoking.

Well, they are quotes. The lot was probably taken out of context. I can't really say they're spouting bullshit, either, for the most part because if we already consider them insignificant, then what more us? All the love to Umberto Eco ----
