So poems are useless pretty things stolen from nature. Poets are pretentious enough to hang them out for everyone to see?

Well, pearl doesn't imply useless, and earlobes don't imply pretentiousness, but otherwise, sure. Although -- and I noted that I would revise the poem so earlier, but now I've forgotten how I was gonna do that -- one must remember that for an earring to stick, one must pierce the auricle first.
