NaPM 2015
#1
As march goes roaring by, I know many of you are looking fondly forward to Spring (unless you are trapped on the bottom of the earth somewhere).  Perhaps you are thinking of gardening, hiking, getting ready for the beach.  Oh, all of the things you will do when spring finally gets here.  Well, stop that now.  April is coming quick and that means our third annual celebration of NaPM here at the Pigpen.

What is it?

NaPM is a month long celebration of poetry.  Pleas look here and here

How do we celebrate?

We yoke ourselves to the mill stone and churn out a poem a day for the month of April. We encourage the activity by posting a prompt a day.

When is it?

April.  Jeez, you poet-types sure do forget quick.

What do I need from you?

First, I could use some help with the prompts.  Those with ideas or "prompts" for poems, please send the ideas via PM to me.

Second, i would like a list of participants who intend to particpate.

I'm in, oh the bad poems I'll write, but maybe it will lift my brainfog. I'll try to think of some prompts. Thanks so much for taking this on again. Smile

Hope everyone will participate as much as possible, last year's was challenging but fun and freeing, and interesting reading.

Will join in as and when able.
Likewise will think about some prompts.

I'm all in as I generally need a cattle prod type challenge to produce. Thinking on the prompts, do you use visuals (as in art) as well?

I have not used visuals in the past but I am not completely against the concept.

I'm in (though if I disappear you know it's because I'm doing too many of these challenge sorts at once and I've finally been buried Big Grin).
When it finally snows here, I'll catch a snowflake and put it in the fridge.

what's up? Do we have a site of commitmentphobes? You do realize that it you give it a try and falter we don't come to your door and bust you.

Have some guts, sign up. Personally, if I write thirty and come up with one good one I'll call it a success. And it's fun, at least at the beginning before it becomes pure torture. But then you can drop out if you're not into the pain.

One week til April. If you won't take part at least send milo some prompt ideas, then you can watch us squirm,

I'll try to participate, along with the one I'm doing with my group in Singapore. (So yes, I'll be writing 2 per day)

Goes without saying I'll be on board and ready to blast through Mercedes' Pansies. Pollen don't scare me, I laugh in the face of death, or at the face of death, or...just don't make me write no sonnet! Ack, gag, gag...sonnet-ball.

How long after picking up the brush, the first masterpiece?

The goal is not to obfuscate that which is clear, but make clear that which isn't.

Blasting through Mercedes' Panties? Sounds like a party.

And if milo follows last year there will be no demand of sonnets or any other specific forms, it's tough enough just to touch on the subject.

For myself, I think I'll try some forms I haven't attempted. Maybe.

Has another year really gone by?

I've done nothing but live.
You can't hate me more than I hate myself.  I win.

Of a quivering vibrato's bittersweet sting."

Congrats. Living is my main goal in life.

I think you asked for that last year. Are all the good poems written by the time you wake up? Hysterical

I believe there's only one prompter — milo, and we're lucky to have him do it any way he can. The threads don't close at midnight milotime, anyone can post whenever they're ready. On an international forum the days blend into each other anyway. Smile

Last year milo made a dated thread in Milo's Forum for each new prompt. I thought it worked well, easy to find the ones I missed. Smile
