Count your Blessings
Name them one by one…
My husband Rick
who loves me with all his might
and is trying his best to
hold my heart tenderly.
Summer silver-leaf cottonwood trees
Vibrant green cattail reeds
and their proud brown heads.
Art swaying in motion
A field of yellow
butter-cup flowers
White, purple and pink
foxglove batches by the
side of the road
Orange poppies in bloom
bordering a fresh-cut green lawn
The heat of Summer…
Ah, my feet are finally free!
The joy of my toes in
the grass and sand
The love of a true church family
Brothers and Sisters who
really care about me –
while they go on
loving Jesus and what
He loves
The beauty and joy
of Spiritual Hymns and
singing praise to my Lord!
Memories of good times past;
places, pets, people and
white daisies…
How this little girl
held them in her young hand
I said the words
“he loves me, he loves me not”
laughed and threw the plucked
petals into the wind.
Count your Blessings –
yes
