My love, he is a grizzly bear.
He’s rather big, he has brown hair
and brown eyes too, and hairy arms
and other grizzly bear-like charms
He often grunts when he’s displeased
but he shuts up when he’s appeased.
He’s fond of honey in his drinks
and into hibernation sinks
in winter time; he stays in bed
and gets up only to be fed.
In autumn time he strips the trees
of fruit that hides amid the leaves.
He’s Fond of jam with berries in.
His hairy face it hides his grin.
He doesn’t dance, he isn’t trained,
he’s rather wild, he’s quite untamed.
I tell him he’s a grizzly bear-
Its a private joke we share.
