There’s a pest in the kitchen-
a rotten bloody mouse.
He seems to be the only one
that’s living in the house,
but even one’s too many
reproachable rodents.
Were I to get a hold of him
there’d be some violence.
The cats aren’t helping at all
they’re too lazy and well fed
to bother chasing mice around,
they lie there on their beds.
I’ll have to get a mouse trap,
bait it with peanut butter,
put it on the kitchen bench
amid all the clutter.
Hopefully I’ll find him
dead inside his trap
I’ll put him in the rubbish
and that will be that.
