Iamb Rock

I fear I'm much too cultured for such folly --
the night was passed with absinthe and a brie,
so maybe jazz is calling. All that lolly
that rock stars make will not be offered me.

I'd have to smoke to keep such company
and maybe learn an instrument or two
(I've never blown a Reed, I hope that he
will take a bath before my solo's due.)

In truth I'll have to act the part, in lieu
of any aptitude in that direction --
my musical abilities are few,
but I know how to handle an erection.

There! Problem solved! I'll be in showbiz yet;
let others play and I will build the set.

and I'm no stranger to the upper touch.
You and I will stroll the Brisbane Bay
and pick ourselves two perfect polished stones
then we'll off to the museum, stare at bones
of dinosaurs, or maybe the ballet.
I hope that I'm not coming on too strong
(yes I remember that you wear a ring)
but a proper Poet always pays her debts.
Like dinosaurs' a bone is growing long;
two matching polished rocks, that was our thing
and after all, you have that skill with sets.
