Ever felt like this?

Nope, I try to be polite to everybody and I like people unless they prove I was unwise to do so, but some I really like and enjoy posting with (I include you in there, there's no accounting for taste.)

He did. And other than that comment: The fact that people are mentioning Zooey Deschanel means they have studied my poetry and identified one of my main tropes. So maybe A. R. was right in celebrating me.

He did: Todd; via milo.

Todd might not like me overall. But he liked that one poem I wrote that time that mentioned the Elephant Man. That's why I count him as a supporter.

Leanne might not like me as a person or like my writings. But I get the feeling she respects my hardcore devotion to poetry in I dare even say the romantic mode. I know she likes that stuff.

Don't you believe that for a second. Ellajam loves conflict, with whipped cream on top.

I'm pretty sure I'd have hated Rimbaud but I do love his poems. And Larkin was probably a miserable bastard. I don't even want to think about the insufferable Byron.

The person isn't the poem.

I like Byron and Rimbaud. Larkin I think was a crumb.

True, there are a lot of cunts in real life but it's easier to deal with people in real life because you can see their eyes and their body language. Perhaps I have a different experience and perception of the internet because I came to it a lot later than the majority of the world and I didn't know I was swimming in shark infested waters until I was bitten. And then some places I went to had signs specifically saying that there were no sharks there, just harmless fish and then, yeah bitten again but with the added bonus of being tricked at the same time.

It seems to be daily entertainment for a lot of people, I'm not talking about this site... I remember looking up 'Internet Troll', because I saw it mentioned many times and people being accused of being a 'troll'. In the definition that I read, apart from the obvious description of annoying the fuck out of people, the most important point about it was that 'real trolls' never get discovered, they never raise peoples suspicions. A 'real troll' gradually manipulates people over weeks, months and years and eventually affects their whole world. People accuse people of being trolls all the time, but most of the time they are just annoying bastards for whatever reason. There is something extremely sinister and scary about someone who is willing to dedicate so much time and thought for the ultimate goal of messing up a strangers life, for what purpose?? For these people real life is the internet and the internet is real life, which makes it hard to take the internet out of the equation.

I suppose it makes sense that a lot of people approach the internet with caution and are extremely wary of the possible games that may be played. It's probably the reason why many times after writing enthusiastic positive comments on peoples blogs that can be over 500 words long I get a reply that simply says "Thank you".
It's the game that messes my head up regarding the internet, I haven't got the time. That's why I am so grateful for this site, which for the majority of the time is game free.

I work with people with learning disabilities and sometimes when I go in and say good morning to someone they will tell me to fuck off, the majority of the time though when I say good morning I get a hug, either way though I know that I'm always getting the truth, there is no game. The Pigpen must have learning disabilities because this is where I come to get away from the game and just get the truth.

Probably due to lack of sleep, I reacted earlier on today on this thread instead of thinking and then reacting. I'm not glad that I did it, but also at the same time I don't regret it because both posts were genuine and not part of a game.

Although I do admit that I hadn't considered that fact the internet world may sometimes view me as a triple bluff in order to disguise an earlier double bluff that wasn't really a double bluff but was in actual fact a white herring painted red... It's all a pure headfuck at times and I wish everyone had learning disabilities.

Yeah, I know... we do all have learning disabilities, but you know what I mean.

I don't like herrings. I do like Arbroath smokies. My son threw up a whole load of smokies in the back of my father-in-law's 4WD and they are forever associated with fun times Big Grin

ellajam doesn't admire Allen Ginsberg?

Tbh I have never read any Ginsberg that I found either interesting or well written but I have read accounts about him that were both interesting and well written plus I think Ginsberg is a pretty cool name.

I recall Leanne saying Ginsberg was sonically masterful. And I like the famous Howl and other poems booklet. I can read it as it was read and what it was like to read at that time and like it. To read it today, that whole booklet, is still nice as music. Like Bob Dylan. The poetry doesn't attract me toward his other stuff.

I don't admire Ginsberg in that I never knew him personally to form an opinion but in the days he was around I always found him really entertaining and always felt better on the way out than I had on the way in. He was good at complaining but in a funny way. He was a good performer, and I also enjoy Patty Smith reading his work. And Howl was on my dad's bookshelf so I've got a soft spot for that one.

I'll send you one in the post, (an Arbroath smokie not a vomiting son Tongue ) It should take about 4 weeks but I'm sure it will still be fine to eat. I'll throw in some Ullapool scallops as well, just for good measure.  Thumbsup

There is trolling but that is both rare and can be interesting in its own right. I think for the most part people are less likely to employ pc filters or social construct filters on the internet which can be surprising at first but can also be respected as a more honest form of communication .

I was told I had learning disabilities in school, so I took advantage of that and stopped learning and just made my own sense.

I was going to say, 'nobody ever stops learning' until I realised that you meant that you stopped the schoolwork bit of learning. It's a strange label to give to people 'learning disabilities', it's changed over the years in an effort to be more PC. Before 'learning disabilities' it was 'special needs', but that label is frowned upon now. It seems that the more PC it becomes the smaller the box becomes and it doesn't seem to help anyone.

There are some things that can't be learnt... There's a Scottish island called Skye and once when I had come back from holidaying there one of the people I worked with who allegedly has "learning disabilities" asked me how my holiday in the sky was. I wish my imagination and reality was as free as that, it must be amazing.

We were just sent out of class to the Learning Disabilites rooms where we watched movies all day. Disney cartoons and film strips about how plastic is made.

Now they just get to look at pics of Kim Kardashian. Plastic cartoons have morphed a bit.

You only went to mental hospitals if you argued and wouldn't stay in your seat. They gave me pills and I slept or listened to music when the teacher left the room. The teachers always left the room for twenty to forty minutes at a time.

It may be different in the U.S. but in Britain they were taken from their families at a young age and placed in psychiatric hospitals, or 'asylums' as they were called then... A place of safety and sanctuary indeed.

But I'm talking about people with Down's syndrome and autism. I've heard a lot of horrific stories of how it used to be back then. It wasn't until the late 80's and early 90's that a thing called 'Care in the Community' was introduced and all those people were released from hospital, some of whom were there for over 40 years.

It's a sad part of Britain's history.

We've got that same sad history in the US. Things are somewhat better now for kids who have parents who demand services, but when they closed institutions, I guess they were prisons, they left no place for the crazy (unable to make it in our society) to go except to live on the streets. Services are meager especially when the person doesn't have a home. It's pretty bad.
