A poem for me

A poem for me
I like whisky, wine and women, I like clichés in my life.
I like farting after dinner, sneezing loudly round my wife.
I like writing, singing, crying; yes, I mean it..and I do.
I like shitting in my bathroom whilst looking at the rural view.
I like bacon for my breakfast, I like it smoked and cut real thick.
I like to splat tomato ketchup and afterwards my plate I lick.
I like to cause an angry row then walk away and watch TV.
I like to watch the Jeremy Kyle show, schadenfreude is good for me .
I like to look at porn on Sunday, television then is crass.
I like it 'cause it's free and healthy. Afterwards I like a bath.
I like to cook for friends I've cultured, I've got enought to tolerate.
I like them all around the table, usually six but sometimes eight.
I like the praise, I like the glory, I like the eulogising finks.
I like to think they think I'm modest. Actually, I just like to think.
I like to go back in my memories, reminisce about my youth
I like to hear no one believes me. I don't care...my life, my truth.
I like to disagree on most things, compromise is pretty tame.
I like to bicker, snap and point-score. I treat it all as one great game.
I like, I like...I like a challenge. No I don't. I'm running out.
I like to finish what I've started. I like to end on a strong rhyme.

Just for those who write for themselves......or is it?

There is a lot of great imagery in here. Personally, I'd love to see this fleshed out into a more in depth poem or series of poems Smile

Sorry, couldn't leave it hanging.

Ah! Pragmatist Poetry! Blindingly mundane!

I have no problems with this, nothing to suggest.

How long after picking up the brush, the first masterpiece?

The goal is not to obfuscate that which is clear, but make clear that which isn't.

IMO of course, but if you have no desire to make something more out of the idea's you've presented that is ultimately up to you.

Bollocks.
seriously; leave it in the sewer or the pigs arse. it leads to situations where all we see is bollocks tacked on to other peoples responses. if you don't agree, you don't agree. show how you don't agree through a response to the poem.

and in my opinion. the following line is an image i could do without Hysterical

I like shitting in my bathroom whilst looking at the rural view.

me so glad i didn't post that in ray red.....i just realised where we we are. Blush i agree, bollocks.
