Recalcitrant fonts

I have asked my Courier New several times to consider varying
itself but it always refuses as it thinks that would be
disrespectful to its parents who resided on typewriters.

Does anyone else have this problem with one of their fonts?

i don't care about fonts,as long as it types

I have no idea which font I use because it is the default. Occasionally I use bold, italic or size, but that's all.

i like to march with the roman times but very often it refuses to budge
i did have a passion for lucinda cursive when i first tried a bit of poetry till i was told
what i wrote was beyond help
