"On a window pane ..."

On a window pane
Knocking rain, knocking rain.
An artist, painting pictures
With pure water only.
Expert musician, performing music
Of the celestial domain
With wind and endless strings of rain.

You like this rain.
The artist, the expert ...
But your love is short-lived
Like rain painting.
As cold as the music
From the celestial domain.
I know all, but anyway
I love you, painting, music, rain ...

On a window pane
Knocking rain, knocking rain.

November 2008.

This is beautifully composed, like the music of the rain it describes so affectionately. Great work, Ris.

Beautiful to read. I really like the connection between rain and forms of art. I especially liked the line "with wind and endless strings of rain," perfect location after mentioning the expert musician, as if the sound of the rain falling is a form of music.

Gorgeous stuff. Rain painting and music in it's fleeing beauty... that imagery is sublime and very unique. The line "knocking rain, knocking rain" is like melody to my ears. Bravo.

PS. If you can, try your hand at giving some of the others a bit of feedback. If you already have, thanks, can you do some more?
