Hey everyone, 

Just a quick introduction from a newbie. My name is Sinéad, hard of hearing, recently diagnosed with ADHD, Irish, and living in Qatar (in the Middle East), so a hybrid of life experiences merging in my creaking, aging body. 

I've returned to poetry after a long hiatus. As a fourth-generation wannabe poet, I'm trying to shake off insecurities and find my own voice. That stems from a deep-rooted fear of being criticised and a need for my work to be instantly perfect. Obviously, these are not helpful for a learning writer. Hence, I'm here to brave online feedback before sharing my work in in-person settings, not that there are many here.

I've been scouring the rules, but am sure I will break more than a few. I'm going to practice critique... another area where I feel I don't know enough to share.

Hello Sinéad! Criticism is the absolute most useful thing to improve in just about anything, so I am glad you have decided to take the risk and seek some out. I am sure you will find this server very friendly and the criticism both helpful and polite, I have not been here long but already I feel like I have improved considerably.
