Second day of Pigmas! Taking into account some of the feedback in the opening thread, ye respondents may follow one of three tiers:
(1 - GOLD) Write a sonnet based on the day's prompt. The final goal is to produce something approximating a crown of sonnets!
(2 - FRANKINCENSE) Write a poem of a particular form based on the day's prompt. The final goal is to produce something approximating a crown of that form.
(3 - MYRRH) Write a poem on the day's prompt based on your choice of poem from the previous day's prompt, making sure it's the same form as the poem you're responding to. If you choose to go with this, as of this posting you've but one poem to respond to.

Today's prompt: 
Write a poem involving a painless birth.

I desperately want my spirit to cheer
Reliving anything that i most fear
As I sip my drink, it's too weak I think
But is it too early to switch to beer?
Happy, sad, angry, emotions are packed
Decorated tree, presents are stacked
My daughter believes that on Christmas eve
Late night radio has Santa's sleigh tracked
Am I really celebrating the birth
Of the savior of all people on earth?
Rather scary imagining Mary
Not screaming in pain, but jolly with mirth
Happy, sad, angry, emotions are packed
As a matter of fact it's all an act

The plain was borne of glacier melts, the rock
and ice were carried down the earth's first slope,
the sediment left flat and fresh to stock
with seed then herd, and fragile, human hope.

Tonight, the moon is glowing red, its light
reveals a path toward her eyes, the blue
and hazel gravity of earth, the might
of sixteen horses galloping the Sioux.

The first light snow is melting on the field,
my steps removing white and leaving brown
as I have almost reached her door. I steel
my heart and knock, prepared to be let down.

Her father opens up the door to say,
she’s off to dance with Jim, be on your way.
