I can't write poetry.
If it doesnt rhyme, it's just me talking.
Daredevil is both the best and worst superhero.
So many accidental deaths, Intentional killings,
he pulls all his punches, he even saves the bad guys.
Then he's a lawyer for due process.
But he lies, he can't be a lawyer and a vigilante.
He can't tell his friends, when they find out
they get fed up and leave.  Look at she-hulk.
She's probably killed someone, you don't even do that.
It's frustrating, be honest Matthew Murdoch.

Country Song

I'd bowed myself to solitude:
prayer and fasting, my attitude.
No commonwealth of man would bring
salvation to this wretched thing,
however pure the company,
however new the country.

Then through the silence broke a song:
a buoyant pitch, a foreign tongue.
A modest giggle, once you saw
this hairy, humorless hee-haw
come stumbling through a thicket,
come stumbling through your country.

And again and again I stumbled,
through woods, through fields of stubble,
just to see that smile bloom again and again,
to make the heavens rain and rain:
oh, bless me with your company,
your joyful, ample country.

The Chimera Network

Milky delights of sight and sound
sucked from a monster’s breasts
ever-stories fed through the air
into our brains via eyes and ears
remainder of body locked in stasis
distilling belief until we cry out, “Stop!”
or we are satiated with the fictions
and rise up, undoing the shrouds,
to look for meaning elsewhere.
The monster waits, silenced and dark,
until hunger drives us back to her lair.

Brought to you by
my wife, I think I’ll keep her

Don't leave home without it
It's the real thing
The quicker pick’er up’er
You deserve a break today

Mike

The rooster crows by morning
To draw out a confession, patience
Will lay that bird
Dead to rights

Walnut shells and apple cores
tally up
Hyenas prowling
In the night

Plato with a Right-hand Drive

If only life had been so mad
and frolicsome and Britain had
been but a meadowscape of green
where lissome ladies might be seen
attending (with a well-bred smirk)
to spies and cads -  Avenging work
for Queen and country.

Today’s Avengers can’t compare–
they’re superheroes, neither rare
nor simply fab like Steed and Peel
ensconced behind a Bentley’s wheel–
Platonic lovers.
