Last Regret

Eyelids trap the sun's warmth under
fishies swimming in them.
Light breeze giving her goosebumps,
she shivers, gulping down.

Scarcely telling,
when the ground beneath her turned to air
or when the voices gave up,
her eyes remained shut
and her breath steady.

Somersaulting down
she got thirsty
and wished she had a glass of water
before doing this.

The way you gave eyelids biological qualities was astounding. I've never read anything like this. I've read your poem 4 times already. This is my favorite piece thus far. Thank you
