Synesthesia

Synesthesia

The first thing I ever stole
was a plastic fridge magnet
of the number three.

I must have been about four.

It was a sleek, flat-topped three
of navy blue-- sharp as fuck

whereas, the three from my set at home
was baby blue and rounded --
like an eight sliced down the center.

I had to have it.

I still have it.

Very cool poem, Tiger.  I did have to look up "synesthesia" after I read it.  Then I read it again.  I'm now going to spend some time trying to remember the first thing I stole.

Thanks, TB. This is mostly a true story. I'd rather have offered a more complete poem, but the grammatically correct way of saying plastic #3 fridge magnet from a child's ABC, 123 set was giving me a headache so, alas, it ended up in "fun".
-- Also, "sharp as fuck" is exactly how I might describe it, (conversationally) but not really in keeping with how a 4 year old would. I need an edit there.
Thanks for reading.

I also dah the experience of LETTERMAGNETS.

I had a talk about this once with a meeting.

I mentioned the lettermagnets.

I was considered no longer interesting.
I also gendered numbers, and colored them.

I color months, and, well, that's all.

August is red. July is green. May is purple. June is green. Typical stuff. April is red.

Four is blue. But I'm a water sign.

When I was a young kid, me and my first friend, a girl, went down a dirtroad and stole an apple.

I was put into psychoanalysis the next day.

Meanings are mean, if you're not generally a nice person.

And nice can be ice
