I also prefer free verse. Though from time to time, I've enjoyed form. My work is mostly minimal focusing on imagery. I also choose odd topics.

Stories or depictions, frequently with a moral.
As to format, I prefer sonnets and other rhymed forms. Based on what's been most approved here, though, my forte seems to be blank verse (tennis without the net); I struggle with free verse (tennis without the ball) but persist. Non-practicing atheist

Free verse. English is not suited for rhymed poetry, as it's not a naturally melodic language. Blank verse is bombastic, which worked well in more primitive societies.

Yes, I like to write in free verse too, but im a sucker for a rhyming couplet or two
