Don't sell yourself short!  The run-on enjambment is quite ingenious, and we should all write something today to be scabs against the "Poets' Strike" before it's over!  (I'm going to slip one in, too.)

But, first off, holy big-ass poems in short form, batman! You and rowens....a "short" poem must mean something different in the American south than it means everywhere else on planet Earth.

Breaking news -- I like how you start and finish with the same line to give continuity.
happening overnight -- 'happening' is weak compared to how much action is in this poem

warfare in the Middle East -- liking illegal, overseas, middle east for sonics. I think that leveraging internal rhyme like this even more in the piece will serve to give a feeling of unity to the disconnected news pieces.

criminals vindicated by test-tube -- I like how the nonsense creeps in toward the end with being vindicated by a test tube baby, shows how the mind (at least my mind) starts to lose control of the logical connections between things and it all becomes a big swirl of chaotic overstimulation

So, again I think you can do more with internal rhyme. And a couple of the connections need to be more elegant.

But, I like how you've kept the lines short to keep the reader moving at a breakneck pace -- just like current events seem to. Form mimics content here.

I also think it's good that the poem not any longer than it is, or the super fast pace could become overwhelming.

So, my question to you is, why do you think you're a shit writer if you can bang out something like this in an evening???
