With all due respect to @CRNDLSM, I disagree.  To paraphrase (perhaps incorrectly), finding the truth is kind of flat:  you thought you knew the truth already  - hence the embarassed joke - and what has changed, really?  Even if it in fact "set you free," as claimed, how does this freedom differ from the previously unsuspected captivity?  A particular letdown if you worked hard to attain this state of accurate understanding, and now it's... just there.

(No, I don't disagree with liking how she said it.)

Note that this is just before you realize that you can *do things* with this new understanding.  But not yet.

You're a great reader, duke Always a privilege to be read well. Yes, a worthy interpretation, and brought out different elements than I hadn't thought about. I did a slight edit just to bring out the theme of speaking the truth aloud, how it sounds different that one might have thought and that the act of speaking it doesn't necessarily bring about thunderbolts from the sky as previously feared/anticipated. Doesn't conflict with anything you said, I just used your interpretation to clarify that aspect of my own thinking, so thank you for that.
