Shape-shifters

I had to use magic on him yesterday.
With a single No he transformed himself into a stone,
cold, hard and in my path.

I became a river,
foamed and frothed against him
then coolly flowed around and past.

In time I’ll wear him smooth.

A very nice use of metaphor, Mopkins. It's original.
*Warning: blatant tomfoolery above this line

I like the metaphor and humour used in this and "smooth" was the perfect choice of word with which to end it.
The whole poem and especially the last line reminded me of a quote I found a few months ago...

"The drops of rain make a hole in the stone, not by violence, but by oft falling." - Lucretius

Although to be honest it's just not as funny as your poem.
Thanks for the read.
