i think you could put a guide up for the collaborative threads, explaining what the criteria is.

which if anyone takes part will give you yjeinfo you need as to it's chance of success

good points, I will do that tomorrow, I think. (Is yjeinfo swedish?)

Looked over the forum and viewed some of the thread's. Not bad idea's, there is lack of current enthusiasm in the collaborative thread.

Mentoring seems like it would take an experienced poets time up from there usual routine. To me, it would almost be a Collaboration in itself.

I would utilize collaborative over mentoring.

I dunno, it'd be nice to have a mentor who is still alive.
I call everyone I learned from a mentor. The person I learned the most from is not only alive, he is a pedantic pretentious asshole. ( he refers to me as a drunk illiterate moron) I've been trying to get him to come to the pen, but so far no luckWink

here is a page of his old poems:

(false relations is my favorite but they are all worth a read)

We were friends for a good long while, our falling out occurred when I "insisted on being polite to morons" a practice he considers unforgivably rude! Hysterical

....Thumbsup

I already tried but our last interaction was . . . Not promising. Maybe billy could convince him to take a look or . . . Leanne could bat her eyes, you know that drive the boys crazy!

Who doesn't love flattery? He is devilishly clever though, he could most likely be enticed by the opportunity to make fun of morons as that seems.to be his favorite activity.

You didn't ask for opinions on the anonymous crit.
But anyway: I think it's a great idea, only I'd change it and make it
optional for the person to reveal themself. Would it work here?
Probably not, but it's a great idea anyway.

I meant to, I added.that part in later. I actually like it as well.

it could work but you'd still have 7 people who knew who posted even if they did so anon. which would sort of make it unfair on everyone else. i'm not sure there's a get around for it either. though if someone wanted to post a reply through a proxy (mod) i see no harm in it.

The poem would be posted by the coordinator. You did promise to pay attention to that part, billy

that's what i just said. if you designate someone as a coordinator, i assumed it would be a mod. because we'd all find out who the coordinator was posting for wouldn't we

Just the one mod who posted it would know. It would be posted under that mods name so there would be no way deduce who the author was.

Thanks for putting this up Milo, I know time is at a premium at the mo so appreciate the extra effort to do this right now.
Looking forward to participating in this thread.
I just wanted to ask a question about any oversight or covering that is at the back of my mind and would be my main hesitation about becomming a mentor and i suspect i am not alone in this concern, so i will put it out there.

Basically i would be concerned with mentoring someone amiss. I have no problem with making a fool of myself and being seen to be poetically incompetant, but i would hate to think that i was leading someone astray with false or wrong information. You mention that the thread will be open to comments but not critique from others. How about if the metoring is just daft or off the wall? could there be something in place even if this was then a pm to the mentor. (otherwise might destroy the confidance of the mentor and the poem poster if too public).
This would be my only resever to taking part in mentoring.
Sorry to be asking this at this stage. Apoligies i should have brought it up sooner.
