One bit lost

One bit lost, a new television screen.
If my bit were there i'd see things everyone has seen.
Why? Would I want to do that?
Losing a bit is cool as a matter of fact.

Some say condition, others say mindful illness is my expedition.
I just say call me Dundee, crocodiles my companions.
I hunt for friends or an idea or two, give me a fiddle
and i'll play you a little tune.

Muse, I was once known as. Little did he know the fuse
was being mended. Amusing his eyes that my lines choose.
Bass riffs precisely, is my claim to you. Couldn't wait
to say goodbye. In a month my bait
may catch me a fish.

Lost my bait, my hook is gone too. Line is absurdly
adrift of this rift of time lingering in your heart.
Who wouldn't start to break in rhyme when my beat
is being mended my a poetic mind.

Hey, I really liked the first half, but the tone and the theme seemed to change in the second. At first it seems that you're searching for something beyond the TV, and then it seems you're yearning for a women.
