Wanted
#1
To feel wanted,
Wrapped up in your embrace
Locked into your eyes
The last people on Earth and beyond

To feel wanted,
Legs intertwined with another
Harboring his attention
and then another's

To feel wanted,
Intoxicated, not for me, for them
For the sensual stare-downs
I am a prized piece of art

To feel wanted,
The museum walls are cracked
Everyone has bit from my apple
Crying out for your embrace

To feel wanted,
Desperation for even a glance
Frantic and screaming
Surely Hell will want me

To feel wanted.

{Authors notes:This poems speaks about the feeling of being wanted. The speaker of the poem appreciates being wanted by a significant other in the first stanza. In the second stanza the speaker becomes more greedy for this prized feeling and is described to be with others that are not his/her significant other. Through the third stanza it is shown that the speaker has become an attention seeker, drunkenly embarrassing his/herself and soaking in the attention, claiming to be "a prized piece of art." This metaphor is referenced in the following stanza in the line "The museum walls are cracked." This represents that our "prized piece of art" is spiraling downward and losing it's value as the wall crumble around it. "Everyone has bit from my apple" is implying that the speaker of this poem has lost his/her innocence and then some in the struggle to feel wanted. "Crying out for your embrace" mostly mirrors the first stanza, showing how the speaker regrets the overwhelming greed to be wanted and all they have endured through the process and he/she seeks to have that one significant other once more. The fifth stanza shows the rock bottom the speaker has hit. Desperate to feel wanted, the speaker is never satisfied and suggests "Surely Hell will want me," implying death to be the only solution.}

The way it starts upbeat, and then all comes crashing down is pretty neat. I like the repetition, and i think it's apart of being human to feel wanted, and to hunger for love. I like it. Smile
