Walmart, Target, or any other retailer should be allowed to sell guns and ammunition, as well as compound bows and arrows - it is no different than selling butcher knives or hatchets. Those are weapons in the wrong hands, but they are designed to be tools.
you'd struggle to shoot 85 people with a butchers knife or hatchet.
the law is you can have firearms, my contention is that those who sell the firearms often don't take the proper precautions as to who they sell them to. the question isn't about owning a gun, it's about whether or not the laws are strict enough on those who sell them. personally i thinks it's too easy to get a gun in the usa. the gun rings who bought an extreme amount of guns legally which were then drove to mexico and sold or sold to drug gangs is ridiculous. how many guns does a person need to hunt or protect their home and self, while i'm sure you and your family can be trusted, i'm also sure there are lots who can't.

NO. A free market is what has made America prosperous and putting limits on citizens is not a principle we were founded on.
actually a free market and the ability to abuse it is what fucked up the worlds economy. selling a product for a fair price is the most fundamental part of a capitalist system, even more so if it's a product lots of people want like guns. breaking the law or acting stupidly while doing this is the thing that has little to do with a free market. guns in my mind shouldn't be sold to ex cons etc. strict laws to stop such a thing should be enforced.
also; the usa has laws, more than many. a law is a limit put on the population. the 2nd amendment is not a blanket right for all to bare arms. some are not allowed. they are limited from carrying arms.
