Stag parties

I'm not the wild type myself, but I can assume there are at last two things at work when people act out in their stag parties abroad.

One, it's tradition. There's a belief, mythical or not, that this is the last chance for the groom to indulge his "wild side" before marriage "ties him down". So the traditional stag activities tend to become akin to a very drunk, very misguided bucket list.

Second, it's the freedom of being in a place where hardly anyone knows them, with no one to look over their shoulder, drinking and partying as you please. It makes you feel unfettered, invincible, and reckless. You just have to look at the phenomenon of spring break amongst kids in the US to see the extreme behavior that could generate.
