I didn't say God was invented by people -- just the mythology. The embellishments on the mythology can be good or evil, depending on the results in the real world. I don't think God can be justifiably blamed for this. What if God set everything in motion with a single act of creation and did nothing more to interfere? To curse him for not creating something more to our liking seems pretty small-minded.
