While it is theoretically impossible for objects to travel faster than the speed of light, it is in theory possible that space can be folded, and wormholes can be created between the folded layers, thus creating shortcuts from one region of space to another.

i watched a program about that vf. and the conclusion was that it would take far more energy than we could create to achieve it. that said what we find impossible now will probably be a walk in the space park tomorrow.
