i'm of a different school. i have no problems with kids watching gaga horror films or any other media apart from full blown porn. for me the question isn't "why the fuck are kids allowed to listen to this" but why the fuck are kids not taught that this stuff is show biz, that it's not real but role playing. the blood and gore on television is just ketchup and pork sausages etc. call me wrong but we watched the most horrific of films together as a family. all the bad stuff was pointed out for what it was. same with the music. all hype and no sex. they loved lamar and and other nefarious artists, but they were never stopped from watching the raunchy or rude bands or artists. of course they weren't force fed it but my youngest girl did enjoy a good horror movie. (to laugh at) not sure if gaga and co's music isn't aimed at kids but i suspect it is really. most of the lyrics have that angst that all teenagers carry about within themselves. i think it's aimed at as awide a spectrum as possible. anyway. i believe it best to open the childs eyes to what happens on tv, in the media etc and teach them which is shite and which isn't
i do think you're right about the older kids teaching the younger ones. and that another role the parent has to play. the bad guy, telling or showing why the older kids are wrong, or just stupid. half the problem is these iconic figures get in the limelight for the wrong reasons, for drugs, sex in toilets (george michael lol) and the older kids emulate them, they go on and get emulated by the younger kids.
