They do serve a purpose; for quick info exchange as an example.
They are good for real time insult flinging to.. Benny and I would have a field day a week ago.

and you just made my point. insult should be in the sewer where they belong or in a poem where they can be expressed. in a public shoutbox insults are merely insulting
