Billy's question was if homo means man, than why are lesbians called homosexuals too (paraphrasing). benny2guns said it correctly, we are all homo-sapiens and homo means human (not man), as was indicated by a prior thread. (wiki...a) Psychiatrists needed to have a term to differentiate one orientation from the other, so basically people (either sex) who are attracted to the same sex are all homosexuals. I don't really care for titles (although i'm a lesbian), but if you must give me a title, i'd rather be called "queer" (from the "sticks & stones verse"). hope this helps.

i'd sooner call you by a name than a label though. i don't think a sexual preference should be used as a title per say. i'm billy. i may be hetero but it will never be my title. thanks for posting. and for keeping on topic
