Boy I hate revision, can't make any progress on this thing

If you've tried and nothing seems to be an improvement maybe put it aside a bit. Sometimes with a fresh eye you can see how you might implement a suggestion without doing any damage, sometimes it turns out that even with flaws the original is the best version.

This is coming from someone who loves to hack away at them while they're fresh even if sometimes it means going back to the original with maybe a tweak or two. But if the critiques help you understand the way your poem is perceived they're worthwhile whether you use them to edit or not.

Nothing to lose by editing, nothing to lose by waiting, depends on the poem and the poet, and sometimes whether or not it's raining.
