The first 6 lines loosely echo the 6 "days" of creation as described in Genesis. What was known some 40 centuries ago may have been very flawed, yet I'm fascinated that ancient minds could construct such a narrative. And without the aid of modern science.

It's important that known in this context is intended to mean within the scope of knowledge available to those ancient people.
