There isn't a way to restrict the newbies to basic. At least not an ability I have. And based on how few newbies bother to read any of our other rules, I doubt any would see or heed a written request to stay only in one forum.
It is annoying to have trolls. It's annoying that they can now bypass bans so easily. There isn't much we can do, but making things harder for all newbies isn't a good answer. We are trying to grow the site. Making it harder to join won't help us do that.
Meh - it’s not like we get a lot of trolls and this guy was mostly harmless. I guess we will see if he returns tonight. He is definitely ESL which is unfortunate, I bet he could belt out some real zingers in whatever native language he speaks instead of this inane claptrap
