yah, I also think sometimes people aren't sure what exact level of feedback they are looking for so the basic-mild-intensive acts as a barrier, not as a tool

I wanted everyone else to chime in first but essentially, I think what people want is:

1. A forum for feedback
   
2. A forum for non feedback
   

And for the feedback forum it should always be understood that it is to the best of the person's abilities (some people probably don't feedback in intense because they are worried they don't have the level of feedback to offer)

also, I am not even talking about the newbs - they follow the general intent the most.  Long time members always end up just posting in Misc and then when I ask if they want feedback they say yes.

 I remember Tom ragging on me for not posting a poem in intensive, my response being that a crit with just one point could be the vital. On the other end a critique that’s too intensive could cause someone to flee. Maybe tags in the thread title: Mild, intensive or 
any. ????

yah, maybe, but to what purpose.  I can't imagine someone requesting intensive being upset if they only received a minor bit of feedback

Maybe it's just me being me. If I can't wrap my head around the basic concept of a poem in intensive (Jove, Michael wtf?), or not as knowledgeable about poetic devices, then I don't comment about the passages I can understand there. I always felt like less informed comments were more appropriate in the other workshops. Maybe it's just me.
