One of the chicken breeds that lays blue eggs is Ameraucanas.

Yep - Easter egg era too. I almost had an Easter egger except it turned out to be a rooster

Piss poor sexing if you ask me.

well, I picked her up at a chicken swap meet and I was sure she was a hen because she had different coloring than all the others as well as different facial features and they were all definitely roosters.

Unsexed chickens are a lot cheaper so I took the risk.  I still miss her sometimes.
