The story’s quite a work of art,
some say the greatest ever told
as Machiavellian as one
could wish to stand the test of time
and yet–
in light of Occam’s Razor might
we theorize that useful parts
accreted: motives, silver paid
by now-opposed authorities
to set
up Jewish priests as villainous...
but Judas peaching straight to Rome
from private motives, all alone,
Sanhedrin uninvolved’s the way
to bet.
