in 'homosexual', 'homo' is latin for 'same'... but the word 'homo' is also latin for 'human' -- but, even this homo is not 'male' per se, but comes from the concept 'out of the earth' -- 'humus' --
this word 'homosexual' is probably a modern word created by a psychologist. there was no such distinction made in early times -- you did sexual things, but you weren't patterned out as some unique thing. like, in rome, julius cesar was called 'both husband and wife', because of how he got it on, but not 'gay'. 'gay' didn't exist as a concept, in the way we use it.
