Bars in Italy open in the morning,
serving coffee, whereas here
cafés are only open noon to night
and rarely do they ever right their drinks
with shots of grappa.
What we call bars, they call discotheques,
and I've no clue what either serve, how either are, because
here in the Philippines, either you choke on smog,
you drain your wallets booking cabs, or you
drive wherever you wish to go,
there are no trains, the cities are far too dense,
and jeepneys rarely shut their windows,
whereas I've never been to Italy: I only dream
of having espresso every eighth of a day
while navigating a government careless and confused
in all too same a way.
