What He Carries Now
That Van Pelt kid
was about my age
when he was in the papers
so he must be
just about my age now.
He settled down
got his eyes and hair fixed
has a couple kids
and no longer clings
to a rectangle
of warm “outing” flannel.
In its place he trained for
and obtained a license
to carry a concealed pistol
and does.
As for the thumb...
he’s got an iPhone™.
