run breakneck
and unaware
into the glass

you'll shatter
into a thousand
lies

Does it reveal how old and cynical I am that when I read the title I had no second thoughts about it,
it seemed deeply ironic and spoke directly to me. Definitely the kind of poem I love. Oh man, I've
certainly earned a few Cupid Awards in my life! I'd be thinking how smart and rational I was this time,
not going to act like a stupid teenager. It was possible, I told myself, to fall in love in a reasonable
adult fashion. BAM! Why had I been running and who put the glass there? Maybe you meant the lies
in a slightly different way, but for me it was the lies I told myself about how smart I was.
Anyway, that's a great poem; short and sweet and powerful, just like I like them.
