We are hoping to post a themed poetry thread for each month where poets can post as many poems as they like (as long as it adheres to the theme) within the thread. We already have a few of these going (this month’s was the suicide thread), but we would like to fill out the rest of the year and have one theme for each month.
Below is the calendar as it currently stands. Do y’all have suggestions to fill in the remaining months? These would be annually recurring threads, so topics that are fun/easy/popular to write about again and again would be best.
(Also, in May we are all weary from NaPM so what would be a good ‘reviving/inspiring’ type of topic?)
January- ?????
February- love poems
March- ?????
April- NaPM
May- ?????
June- ?????
July- suicide
August- pets
September- ?????
October- all things scary
November- LPIA
December- pigmas (continues into Jan.)
And, before we get a flood of ideas, I think it's important that topics should be very broad -something you could write 100 poems about. It's no use hosting a "first annual poems about refraction" month.
Broad subjects promote participation 100%.
