Awesome, blind, and bloody
burning down the cherished desires
destiny dooms the devastated disgrace
of heavenly extinction
leaving behind grief and guilt
to fester in icy immortality.
Karma is infinite in its loathing and joy
for the fool forever drowning in harmony
looking for a miracle outside the moon’s oblivion
trapped in a paralysis of sacred misery
dragging behind him a savage oath
longing for sacrifice, he is his own victim.
Burdened with this millstone
of venomous weakness,
he tortures himself with tears, wrenching at last
the shattering shame from out of the wound
that serendipity makes a slave of passion
and a pure rose of trauma.
