Are you a Rod Mckuen fan?When I was "growing up" in the 1960s and started reading poetry for the first time, Mckuen was considered a joke, or at least a very bad poet. I looked at his Wikipedia biography, and it doesn't appear that that opinion of him ever changed. I'll be the first to admit I haven't read his poetry, so I can't say much more. But it's interesting to compare his career to that of Leonard Cohen, another poet turned songwriter.
