[Semicircle]

Wasted time
accumulated over an empty space.
Memories fizzle;
stagnant film of guilt.


Stairwell,
shadows creaking up the steps. 
Visages transposed behind doors
reaching out, murmuring gibberish.


Faces, spoiled by turmoil,
slowly crawling along dark pockets
like amoebas.


A subtle feeling builds up with bricks,
walling him inside the complex


Screams ricochet down corridors,
Eyes peering behind
open doors.


Dormant ghosts; without a voice,
spill out of his head–
uninhibited, belligerent,


Leaving behind a souvenir
to ponder.
