Any verse written
after 1914
speaks only of ages
before if it's anything
more than a fragment.
In an age where all
can end through nothing
but a telegram, endings
strike the reader as terribly
old-fashioned, stamping
individuality in something
so generic as poetry
like a life-changing trip
to Cancun.
