the bells at St. Jabob's 
stopped their ringin' 
must be four, five years gone

sometimes folks get drunk
and determine to get 'em 
started up again--

pry the plywood from the windows
and forget their are still shards 
of stained glass
hanging on by the sills

it's a messy business
and wakes half the town
