Ode to a Garden Hose
Curling snake-in-the-grass you toy of children
wetting my lawn with water from distant towers
in lieu of absent showers
subtle coiled-up in piles of others
with your matching screw-ends that tempt me
to attach head to tail creating a
dry ouroboros out on my driveway
which would parch my roses unwatered.
